Oakland showed up, and so did the energy.
During Super Bowl week, the 4th Annual NFLPA Community MVP Day brought players, partners, and students together at Emerson Elementary School for a day centered on community, leadership, and opportunity. Hosted by the National Football League Players Association, the focus went beyond football. It was about access, connection, and investing in the next generation.
The setup felt simple and intentional. A field day-style environment filled the school with energy as students rotated through stations focused on running, throwing and catching, and quick feet work. Music, games, and movement kept everything active. No one was on the sidelines. Everyone was part of it.
Players were fully engaged throughout. Coaching, encouraging, and participating alongside the kids. That presence created an environment built on teamwork, support, and accountability. It showed what leadership looks like in real time.
The day extended beyond the field. Students took part in STEM activities and contributed to a Black History Month mural, adding creativity and cultural context to the experience.
Through partnerships with School Specialty, The Conscious Kid, and VituityCares, a $5,000 NFLPA grant was expanded into $15,000 in funding and resources for Emerson Elementary, creating impact that lasts beyond the day itself.
NFLPA Community MVP Day was about shining a light on what’s next. A reminder that the game can be a platform, but the real impact is in how it brings people together and builds something bigger for the future.
