On the Thursday morning of Super Bowl week in New Orleans, while excitement for the Big Game was building, a different kind of energy filled Hynes Parkview Charter School—one fueled by giving back. The 3rd Annual NFLPA Community MVP Day brought together NFL stars, local students, and volunteers in a powerful celebration of service, mentorship, and community.

Led by this season’s NFLPA Community MVPs, alongside other active players like Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly, the event was centered on connection—from coaching kids through football drills to handing out gift bags and offering words of encouragement. It was clear this day was about more than touchdowns; it was about teamwork, gratitude, and inspiring the next generation.

In partnership with Mercy Chefs, players also packed food boxes for local families in need, shining a spotlight on the NFLPA’s growing commitment to fighting food insecurity. As Kelly shared during our conversation, “We love the game—but we know that the real win is what we do off the field to support our communities.”

The event was part of a broader slate of initiatives from the Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, which named four Community Champions to drive year-round programs focused on empowering local youth, supporting small businesses, and uplifting families across the region.

In a week often focused on spectacle, NFLPA MVP Community Day served as a meaningful reminder that true greatness comes from lifting others—one high five, food box, and inspiring moment at a time.
